Confirmed: Hispanic Citizenship Skyrockets



In 2008, nearly half a million Hispanics/Latinos took the oath of U.S. Citizenship, according to the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials. Most of those were from Mexico.  Hispanics accounted for nearly half of the approximately 1 million people who became naturalized U.S. Citizens last year, including those show here taking the oath of citizenship at the Milwaukee Federal Building.
